Claudia Alford Pudifin passed away on September 30, 2016, from complications of her long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Claudia was born November 8, 1926 in Hemphill TX, to parents Marvin E. and Berlyne L. Alford. She was educated in elementary schools in San Augustine, Jasper and Nacogdoches TX.

After graduating from Nacogdoches High School in 1944, she attended Stephen F. Austin College prior to moving to Houston in the early 1950's.
Claudia worked for the Harris County Clerk's Office, The Texas Highway Department, and several law firms before starting her career with the Texas Department of Human Services in the mid-1970. Claudia had an exemplary career with the State, including being recognized at the Region 11 Employee of the Year in 1983; she retired in 1995.

A single parent much of her life, Claudia was a devoted mother to her two boys. She is survived by her sons William A. Pudifin and James L. Pudifin, her sister Gert Alford, grandsons Ryna E. and Erin W. Pudifin, nephew Randy Coon and several great grandchildren.
Claudia was a very independent woman with a strong work ethic. She sacrificed much for her children, always putting them first. She will be greatly missed and dearly cherished especially by her "baby" James Lynn.

The family wishes to recognize AMED Hospice and their team of caregivers and health professionals who administered at Claudia in the last few months; special thanks are extended to Chamieca Streeter for the love and care she gave to Claudia during her final journey.

The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, October 4, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and a funeral service Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the Family Chapel at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 followed by a burial at Brookside Memorial Park.
