Joan Cecelia Velez of Houston, Texas went to be with her Lord on Friday, August 11, 2017 in Houston, Texas.

She was born May 4, 1933 to parents Michael Cronin and Mildred Pomeranz Cronin in Chicago, Illinois. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother great-great grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Frank Velez; children: Lucinda Velez Roe and her husband Martin, Patricia Ann Mullins and her husband Gary and Frank M....

She was born May 4, 1933 to parents Michael Cronin and Mildred Pomeranz Cronin in Chicago, Illinois. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother great-great grandmother and friend that will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years Frank Velez; children: Lucinda Velez Roe and her husband Martin, Patricia Ann Mullins and her husband Gary and Frank M. Velez and his wife Vicky; grandchildren: Melissa Frenchman and her husband Lonnie, Laurie Roe, David Roe, Gary Mullins and his wife Mary, Bryan Mullins, Jerrid Velez and Jessica Velez; great grandchildren: Kacie Frenchman, Lonnie Frenchman III, Kayden Roe, Daniel Mullins and Candace Mullins and her husband Travis; great-great grandchildren: Kora West and Tomi West and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Joan is preceded by her parents, son Mark Velez; sisters: Patricia Flaxmayer and Rita Kleinick and nephew Fred Flaxmayer.

The family will receive friends for a visitation Wednesday, August 16, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039 with a vigil service at 7 p.m. in the Grand Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road, Houston, Texas 77092 followed by a rite of committal at Brookside Memorial Park.
