John William Monroe Jr., 88, passed away on November 29, 2016 at his home in Houston, Texas. He was born July 15, 1928 in Lancaster, South Carolina to the late John Wm. Monroe and Bertha Baker.
John was a very kind and caring man who loved helping neighbors, friends and family. He was an avid welder and worked for Union Tank Car until his retirement. He was a Mason in the Woodland Lodge Chapter 696. He loved fishing, gardening and doing work around his...

John William Monroe Jr., 88, passed away on November 29, 2016 at his home in Houston, Texas. He was born July 15, 1928 in Lancaster, South Carolina to the late John Wm. Monroe and Bertha Baker.
John was a very kind and caring man who loved helping neighbors, friends and family. He was an avid welder and worked for Union Tank Car until his retirement. He was a Mason in the Woodland Lodge Chapter 696. He loved fishing, gardening and doing work around his home.
John is survived by his step daughter, Linda Windham Jones; step-granddaughter, Kimberly Jones Bilanoski and husband Glenn; step-great grandchildren, Ty and Elyse Bilanoski, and sister-in-law Aline Kurtz and family.
John is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years Doris Fay Monroe, step-son Gary Wayne Windham and step son-in-law Christopher Jones.
