Rudolph "Rudy" Becerra died unexpectedly in his longtime home on November 28th, 2016 in Houston, TX at the age of 63.

Rudy was born on September 8th, 1953 in Sugarland, TX to Geneva Becerra. He graduated from Austin High School in 1973 where he ran track. He met his wife, Pauline Rivera, at the Pan-America Ballroom by tapping her on the shoulder and asking her for a dance. They later married on February 16th, 1973. Rudy started working for METRO as a bus driver in November of 1983, just months after his first child, Michael Becerra, was born. The next year welcomed his second son, Steven Becerra. In the 33 years Rudy worked at METRO, he held many positions and affected many lives, with his last role being Superintendent. Rudy was passionate about his two boys. He loved being on the field when he helped coach their Little League Baseball teams, and still enjoyed talking football and going to Astros baseball games with them. He supported and loved them unconditionally while helping mold them into the men they are today. His friends and family will remember him as the caring, funny guy that everyone likes.

Rudy is survived by his mother, Geneva Ledesma; his former wife, Pauline Becerra; his sons, Michael and Steven Becerra; his brothers, Joe and Adolph Ledesma, his sisters, Noela Nava, Lisa Pemberton; and his grandson, Leo Becerra. He is preceded in death by his sister, Rebecca Ledesma.
